Our Contract

Health Guarantee

1. Seller certifies that, upon receipt, the dog is in good physical health. All necessary vaccinations and deworming have been done.  All of our breeding French Bulldogs have Full AKC Registration and all of the puppies from their litters are eligible for Full AKC Registration. We will provide you, the buyer, with all of the proper paperwork at the time of sale in order to obtain registration, but it is up to you to submit the paperwork to the AKC and pay the appropriate registration fees. All of the French Bulldog puppies that are adopted from us will come with a minimum of a 3-generation pedigree chart. A Frenchie puppy being sold with Limited AKC Registration is being purchased as a pet and you are agreeing to have your puppy spayed or neutered at approximately 6 months of age. Frenchies with Limited Registration can still be entered into virtually all AKC events since they are every bit as much pure-bred French Bulldogs as are those with Full AKC registration.

2. We only breed healthy males and females with no known significant health issues. While there is no such thing as a perfect puppy, just as there are no perfect humans, you are adopting a high-quality Frenchie puppy and you should expect a puppy of good overall health who will have a happy and active life of a decade or more if you do your part in assuring his/her proper care and maintenance. For this guarantee to be valid, you must have your puppy vet checked within 3 days from the date you take possession. This is important to confirm the overall health of your puppy at the time of delivery and to insure a proper relationship with a qualified vet. If the veterinarian does not give the dog a clean bill of health, buyer must notify the seller immediately. Seller reserves the right to have the dog reexamined by our veterinarian at our cost.
All of the puppies that we place are examined by our vet and are believed to be free of life threatening or severely debilitating defects or illnesses. However, for your protection your puppy will have a one-year guarantee from the date of sale against any congenital illness/defect or any disorder found to be genetic that causes its death or severe debilitation. A vet’s examination, at your expense, must confirm the illness or defect. Once done, you will return your puppy to us at your expense and we will replace this puppy with a puppy of equal quality, at our discretion, when one becomes available.  As an alternative, upon mutual agreement, we may provide cash assistance in lieu of a replacement puppy if medical intervention is necessary, although if you want our participation NO expensive medical treatment should be undertaken prior to communicating with us so that we can discuss various alternatives, one of which would be having our vet perform the procedure. If your puppy dies during the one-year guarantee period, and you believe it is the result of a defect or illness covered under this guarantee, you will pay for a necropsy (autopsy) to ascertain the precise reason for the death.  Upon determination of a genetic or congenital disorder or defect, your puppy will be replaced with a puppy of equal quality, at our discretion, when we have one available.  You are responsible for all shipping costs related to the replacement puppy.

3. Your puppy should be away kept from places frequented by other dogs/pets until at least the final injection to insure that he/she is fully immunized and will not catch any serious diseases if he/she should be exposed to one or more.

4. Any minor health issue(s) or defect(s) found during our vet’s examination of the puppy you have selected will be disclosed to you. If there are minor issues, you will have the options of passing on this puppy and waiting for another litter, or of accepting this puppy with the known issue(s). In some cases, such as small umbilical hernias, undescended testicles, excessively narrow nostrils, cherry eye, etc. We may adjust the purchase price to help pay for corrective surgery/treatment. If your vet finds any health issues which our vet has missed, they should be communicated to us immediately and we will work out a fair resolution with you. The French Bulldog is a brachycephalic (sort-faced) breed, and, like all dogs in this category, all Frenchies have some degree of brachycephalic syndrome characterized by narrow nostrils and somewhat elongated palates. This is what is responsible for the endearing noises made by the Frenchie (noisy breathing, snorting, and snoring) and their inability to deal as effectively with excessive heat, exertion, and stress as longer nosed breeds. In most cases, the symptoms are mild and, if caution is taken (to include smaller and more frequent meals if they gulp their food), they will live long and healthy lives. In a few cases, symptoms are severe enough that a dog’s quality of life is significantly affected.  Also, almost all Frenchies will acquire the characteristic bat ears when they are 4 to 12 weeks old. Very rarely, a Frenchie will need a little help in training its ears to stand erect.

5.We are proactive in the health care of all of our French Bulldogs. Each has received up to date immunizations and preventive treatments for worms, giardia, and coccidia. However, all puppies are considered high risk for coccidia and giardia and other intestinal bacteria and parasites, and preventive treatment is no guarantee that none of these issues will appear. These are often brought on by the stress of shipping, a new home and environment, a diet change, new people and playmates, a change in climate, etc. These health issues are not generally serious and are easily treated, and this guarantee does not cover the cost of treatment for any of these conditions.

6. This contract does not cover injuries, illnesses, or debilitating disorders that result from accidents, neglect, or improper care, including injuries sustained from a jump or fall from an excessive height or from excessive exertion or stress, especially in hot weather. You, the owner,
agree to provide quality food, adequate shelter, regular vet checks, and age appropriate vaccinations and dewormings (including heart worm medication) and other medication as determined by a qualified vet. Failure to provide proper care for your French Bulldog will void this warranty. Frenchies generally do not swim and do not tolerate exertion and stress as well as non-brachycephalic breeds.  Any condition that is minor, correctable, or a breed related minor condition is not covered. No condition which could go away, or is considered to be a condition which a puppy is likely to grow out of is covered. This guarantee does not cover any common puppy ailments such as worms, vitamin deficiencies, any viral bacterial diseases or disorders brought on by parasites. This guarantee also does not cover what the bulldog breed considers normal such as Cherry Eye, Entropian, loose hips or knees, or skin allergies. If your puppy develops a congenital/hereditary life-threatening disorder, we will replace the puppy with another puppy of the same breed and equal value, when available. Heat stroke, exhaustion, dehydration and other heat related conditions are not covered in any way. Remember that a Bulldog can overheat quickly and easily die as a result of overheating. He/She must be an indoor dog. If the dog is then found no to be in good health. Seller will resume possession if this is agreeable to both parties. Seller does not accept responsibility for contagious disease diagnosed after 3 days from date of purchase.

7. Only puppies which are sold with full AKC registration are intended for breeding. There is no guarantee on show potential when your puppy matures, regardless of show potential at the time of purchase, and there is no size guarantee for a French Bulldog puppy when it reaches maturity, although an estimated weight range can be provided based on past data and family history. If you have purchased full AKC registration in order to breed, and your Frenchie is determined to be sterile based on repeated unsuccessful matings and certification by a qualified vet, and your vet subsequently neuters or spays your dog, we will make an adjustment on the price you paid to reflect a limited registration price rather than a full registration price within 2 years of purchase.
